The Division of University Advancement (DUA) is deeply committed to inclusive excellence — the cultivation of an environment where every member of our community can thrive and flourish in a culture of belonging.
In mid-2021, DUA assembled an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Task Force to review our practices, address systemic barriers and create opportunities. The Advancing Inclusive Excellence report details the Task Force’s 79 recommendations, which Vice-President, Advancement David Palmer and the steering committee accepted in their entirety.
As a community, we have committed to holding ourselves accountable to act on these recommendations in a meaningful, inclusive and transparent manner.
Many of the recommendations have already been implemented, and we are working constantly to implement the others to ensure that every facet of DUA fosters a welcoming, accessible and respectful environment that honours diverse experiences, identities and perspectives.

“Just as U of T’s excellence depends on an environment that embraces the broadest range of people and perspectives, our pursuit of excellence in Advancement and our service to the university are enriched by our own commitment to these fundamental values.”
